We opened our 2015-2016 season with a performance of Handel’s Dixit Dominus, and the Coronation Anthems.

The Dixit Dominus (written in 1707 when Handel was just 23) is a spirited setting of Psalm 110, which challenges both the choir and the five soloists with nine movements of complex vocal runs. The Coronation Anthems, completed in 1727 for the coronation service of King George II, is rarely performed in its entirety. The regal splendour of the Anthems and the PCS premiere of the Dixit Dominus, all of this accompanied by the PCS Camerata on period instruments, made it a concert not to be missed!
