Actualité : Directeur musical, Canon Zachary Ullery

Après 13 ans au sein de la Paris Choral Society, nous avons le regret de vous annoncer que Canon Zachary Ullery quittera Paris cet été. Zach se lance dans de nouvelles aventures aux États-Unis avec sa femme, Dr Joy-Leilani Garbutt.

Nous tenons à remercier Zach pour tout ce qu’il a fait. Il a continuellement développé la PCS, en renforçant nos standards musicaux, en créant des programmes passionnants et en faisant ressortir le meilleur de chaque membre. Sa gentillesse et son humour nous manqueront, ainsi que son talent musical extraordinaire.

Le Conseil d’administration et le Bureau procéderont dans les prochains jours à la nomination d’un directeur musical par intérim pour notre concert d’automne avant un processus de nomination plus complet en temps voulu.

Mais pour l’instant, la Société Chorale de Paris souhaite envoyer à Zach et Joy tout ce qu’il y a de mieux pour l’avenir.

 

Une Lettre de Zach

Dear PCS Family,

I first joined the Paris Choral Society in September of 2008 as a singer in the bass section and at the first rehearsal I immediately knew I was in a very special place. I had joined a group of talented, committed, caring, and dedicated people who shared a common goal: making beautiful music together in community (and having a great time doing so!).

In the years since that first rehearsal, I’ve had the immense pleasure of leading this incredible group of humans and I will forever treasure the extraordinary experiences we’ve shared – rehearsals, concerts, Covid Zoom rehearsals (!), virtual choirs, Sainte-Chapelle, living composers in residence, world premieres, and the constant discovery of new music. Wow – what an incredible adventure we’ve shared!

It has been such a joy and delight to serve as your Conductor and Musical Director for the past 13 years. You have been my constant musical companions on this journey called life and we’ve mutually watched each other grow, mature, and change. I think that has been the greatest gift of all – our mutual love and support for each other.

I cannot thank you enough for the pleasure and honor of serving with you. I count you as some of the most instructive teachers and mentors in life and in music.
